When you book your first cleaning with Yaletown Clean, the process starts before our team even arrives. Here’s what to expect from the moment we show up to the moment you walk back in.
What Happens When the Team Arrives
How the visit starts depends on what you booked.
If you booked a First-Time Clean, the team greets you, confirms access, and gets right to work. The scope is already set.
If you booked a Standard Clean as a new client, the team does a quick walkthrough of the space before starting. This is to check that the booking matches the condition of the home. In our experience, most first-time clients benefit from a First-Time Clean even when they book standard. Homes that haven’t had a professional clean in the last 30 days usually need the extra time. If that’s the case, we let you know.
If you booked an Hourly Clean, the team confirms your priority areas first so the time goes exactly where you want it.
The First-Time Clean vs. a Standard Clean
The First-Time Clean is designed to bring your home up to a baseline. Our residential cleaning service is built around two levels for a reason.
The first-time checklist goes further than a standard clean in a few specific ways:
- Baseboards are vacuumed and wiped down, not just dusted
- Door frames and door facings are wiped throughout the home
- Furniture is wiped down and we vacuum underneath it (for pieces up to 20 lbs)
- Window sills are wiped rather than dusted
A Standard Clean covers all the same rooms and surfaces at a maintenance level. The First-Time Clean clears what has built up over time so the ongoing service delivers the results you expect.
How We Handle the Upgrade Conversation
We try to have this conversation before we are ever at your door. If you call to book, we go through it with you then. If you book online, it comes up in our onboarding emails. If something was not flagged ahead of time and the team sees it on arrival, we call before making any changes.
Our honest recommendation: if you are a new client or your home has not had a professional clean in the last month, add the First-Time Clean. If your home turns out not to need it, we remove the charge. You are not locked in.
Once you know how often to schedule your cleaning, the First-Time Clean sets you up so every visit after that hits the standard you are paying for.
How to Prepare for Your First Visit
You do not need to clean before we arrive. A few things do make the visit go smoother.
Clear clutter where you can. Our team is there to clean, not to sort. Surfaces with a lot of items on them take more time to work around, and that can affect the cost.
Tuck away anything fragile or irreplaceable. Our team is careful, but if something has high sentimental or monetary value, put it somewhere safe before we arrive.
If you have specific products you want us to use, leave them on the kitchen counter and let us know ahead of time. We bring our own preferred products but can accommodate specific requests.
What You’ll Notice When You Walk Back In
We asked a client how her first clean went. She sent back one message: “Hey, she was amazing thank you, definitely gonna leave a review for you guys.”
That is the goal. Not a checklist of tasks completed. Just a home that feels right when you walk back in.
If you are not sure whether you need a First-Time Clean, call or text us at 778-786-8500 and we will help you sort it out. Ready to book? You can schedule your cleaning online anytime.
